Winter to Spring

Well the Winter League is over and congratulations to Tam Lindsay who won the Tankard for the best six scores but had to be separated by the lowest card of 56 to win.

Wattie Marshall managed a single "eccy" to scoop the Eclectic score with a 54, one shot ahead of the rest.

A total of 21 possible rounds could have been played and 49 players registered at least one round. The lowest number of rounds by a prize-winner was 5 (eclectic score obviously).

5th April signals the closing date for Match Play competitions, however, the over 25 Matchplays open 9 and 18 holes remain open for more entrants. The Reid Trophy (mixed matchplay) is still available to enter.

The start of the season has been rather damp, with the Open Day abandoned after a couple of holes, and the Capt v Vice-Capt cancelled as the course was closed. This was a relief for the Capt, who was looking at a 5 in a row defeat!

The Open Texas Scramble is this Sunday (10th), and we have extended the time for tees to 3.00pm as the competition was full. Normally was start at 08.00am, but have delayed this till 9.00am in case of frost.

We have a few new members who have transferred from nearby clubs, and hope they get the friendly welcome Dunkeld and Birnam is known for.

Finally, for now, you may have heard I have also taken on the role of Vice-Capt.

I know, I know, I said I wouldn't do it; but with 6 months of the year gone, I felt someone had to step in and I have done so for the rest of golf season.

Now, just give me a brush.......
