Canter Update/ Bell Trophy/ Online Booking

This week saw a change to the top of the Leader Board in the "Canter to the Cowan".

Ross MacDonald shot ahead with 84 points, with nearest rivals Steven Park and Brian Whyte following with 58 and 56 points respectively. Martin Foster enters the top 6 following a Nett 62 in Monday's Extra Medal. Former Leader Andrew Boler dropped to 5th place with 50 points, missing out on potential points playing in a works outing on the Thursday. Ron Burnett and Graham Hutchison Jnr remain joint 6th. Ron succeeding in his doubles match on the Monday, missing out on some points and with a handicap cut, Young Hutchy might now struggle to keep his winning ways.

D&B's first foray into the Bell Trophy takes place this Sunday against Kenmore GC and we wish the team well. Peter Russell, Derek Walker, George Brown, David Morris and Alex Young are the brave warriors to do battle.

As we all know, we should be booking our tee times online if we can work the technology! This can be done from your mobile phone.

After a query this week from a member, it was realised that a member could book more than 2 weeks in advance, yet a visitor had no restriction. With the Club Championship qualifiers coming up, we didn't want a situation where tee times were booked up and members couldn't book appropriate times. We have therefore lifted any restriction on advance tee time booking for members. No excuses now for phoning Claire or Carol for a time!!

Any finally our Inter-Club match against Strathtay was cancelled this week due to a lack of numbers. We will have to look at these matches next year otherwise these matches will fall away.

Hope you are having a successful season and remember that old prayer - Oh Lord I know golf's tough, but at least I play on the right side of the turf!!
