Winter League Christmas Lunch
What a cracking final week we had for our last competitive round of 2016. In the DABS Winter League, youngster John Young (aged 92 years 11 months) took the honours with 41pts!! Dave MacDougall (80 years), came second with 40 points, but took the money in the "proper" Winter League by having the best handicap score. Winter League Wk7 - Balmy Conditions
What a week it has been! The temperature has risen, and the Winter League is hotting up!. This was one of those mixture weekends, where players could elect to use the normal greens OR the temporary winter greens. Regardless of which greens, eccies were still found. Colin Nisbet had a nice scratch 71 to take the money. He jointly shared top spot for h/c prize with Donald Cockbill on 59, but Donald's superior inward half took the top money. Winter Preferred Lies
Having discussed this with various people, it would appear that normally preferred lies extends to the semi-rough. Greenkeeper advises this is a better idea, as it prevents an incease in divot marks etc. So with immediate effect, preferred lies includes the fairway and semi-rough.

Week 6 saw another sunny but cold day, with play on the Temporary Greens. Ronald Lambie posted the first sub-30 9 hole score with an inward 28, securing a 1st place scratch score of 67.
