Canter Update, Bell Trophy, Signing In

The "Canter to the Cowan" has been updated and at last Steven Park has surpassed the 100 point mark (114), but Ross Macdonald extended his lead to 132.

Steven Moon entered the top 6 for the first time on 72, with Andrew Boler re-entereing the top 6 with 66 points. Martin Foster retains 4th place on 70, but Stuart McKendrick has been sneaking up the table and takes 6th spot on 63.

We now have 59 players in the race, with a reminder that those in the top 6 as of the 29th July will be asked to represent the club at the Cowan Cup at the end of August.

For those of you who still wondering what all the fuss is about, the Cowan Cup is contested yearly by 6 north Perthshire clubs including Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Kenmore, Taymouth Castle and Strathtay. This year Dunkeld and Birnam are hosting the event.

To choose our 6 best players for the team, the top 9 players in an extra medal will receive points from 20 down to 1. So still a few rounds to go with all to play for.

The next round of the Bell Trophy will be played at Culcrieff Golf Club this Sunday (19th), and luckily 5 players answered the call for selection. Good luck to Derek Walker, Martin Foster, Steve Gilroy, Alex Young and David Morris.

The club has a "Sign before you Swipe" rule and when a competition is closed off, it can be noted that players are not signing in before they play. Whilst there may be a good reason for this, late for tee-time, or technical issue etc. To prevent this, the computer has been set not to allow players to use their card to sign into a competition after a certain time. Staff can assist if there is a problem signing in.
