It was a cold Sunday that greet 25 hardy souls to week 11 of the Winter League and what is now the "home straight".
As the saying goes, "it takes an auld heid....." as Gordon Smith took the honors with a fine Nett 59. I dare say, given the ground conditions, he was hitting 300 yard drives!!
Alan Low, couldn't match his Nett 50 from the previous week, but Nett 61 was enough for second. With Hugh Kerr, a previous low scorer taking 3rd with a Nett 62.
With few golfers in the Section 1, it's usually between 3 for the scratch prize and again Ron Lambie takes first with a scratch 70. He must be well in profit this winter with his winnings!
Several eccies were still on the go and a few movers and shakers in the listings, but no change in the top three of the sections with Ron Lambie (54), Wattie Barbour (54) and Tam Lindsay (60), still leading the respective sections. Can someone get to 50?
